The Cave
Strips Mon Jul 13 · Opens Tue Jul 14
Steep, thuggy, and unapologetic. Expect big moves between big holds and at least one problem the setters call "friendly" that is not friendly.
18,000 square feet of bouldering, ropes, and a yoga loft that smells slightly less like chalk than the rest of the building. New problems every week. Every grade, every body, every crew.
Tap a start hold on the wall, or use the chips above, to light up a route and read the setter's beta.
Our setters strip a wall, argue about it over burritos, and hand it back to you meaner and more interesting. Here is what is coming down and going up this week.

Strips Wed Jul 15 · Opens Thu Jul 16
Trust your feet, question your life choices. Twenty new problems where the handholds are mostly a rumor and balance is the whole game.
New lines Sat Jul 18
Twelve fresh routes on our 45 foot lead wall, 5.8 through 5.12c. The arete line is a screamer in the best possible way. Belay checks at the desk.
Month to month, cancel anytime, no guilt trip at the front desk. All memberships include gear discounts, guest day passes, and unlimited yoga loft classes.

Intro to Bouldering is free with a day pass on your first visit. Yoga is included with every membership tier and $12 for day-pass holders. Bring water, leave your ego in the cubby.
Half the people here came for the climbing and stayed for the people. The other half will not admit it yet. Events are free for members unless noted.
Every Thursday · 7 pm
Show up alone, leave with a project and three new spotters. We mix groups by vibe, not grade, and there is usually pizza when Dez remembers to order it.
Second Sunday monthly · Next: Jul 12
A women and nonbinary session with guest coaches, technique clinics, and first pick of the fresh set. Beginners are the point, not the exception.
Sat Aug 1 · Doors 5 pm
Our loudest night of the year. Four gap categories from "reasonable" to "why", cash prizes, costume bonus points, and a crowd that counts you down.
Overhang started in 2019 with a spray wall in a rented warehouse bay and a group chat called "chalk goblins". The gym got bigger. The group chat did not get more professional. If you are new to Salt Lake, new to climbing, or new to both, this is a good place to land: someone will lend you a brush, argue with you about beta, and remember your name on your second visit.
We are five minutes off I-15 with free parking, a water bottle filler that actually works, and a front desk crew that will talk shoe rubber with you for as long as you let them.
Small but opinionated. We stock shoes we actually climb in, chalk by the bucket, brushes, tape, belay devices, and a resole drop-off bin. Members save 10 to 20 percent depending on tier.
Trying shoes? Wear them on the training board for ten minutes before you commit. Yes, really. We insist.
Last check-in 45 minutes before close. Early bird lap swimmers, wrong building, that is next door.
